What has happened in the United States recently after appointing it’s 45th President? It seems to have turned back the clock to the old days when McCarthyism was the in-thing and every American went into panic mode whenever it heard the words ‘Communism, Communist, Russian or Russia’.
It used to be the case over the decades that an incoming President would meet an incumbent President in the Oval Office of the White House for a photo opportunity. They would shake hands and laugh at a couple of jokes and that was it. The outgoing President left the White House and would take his family on a ‘well earned rest’. He would not be heard of again save for the eventual benign biography of their time in the White House or an occasional charity dinner.
But today everyone is now an expert on American politics and law. Whoever you support it’s clear that an internecine war has been underway ever since this President took office. It is clearly a coup. This has set a precedence for the next and every Presidential election in the United States in the future.
Indeed it’s most likely that this will now occur in elections around the world. Losing opposition parties who spend Billions on elections will attempt to remain in power using the same techniques being seen in the United States. Results of democratic elections or referendums will no longer be accepted and there will be continual calls for elections and referendums to be re-run until there is an outcome acceptable to the opposition. But then the whole cycle begins again.
